Strong Families Strong Children (SFSC)

Dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of veterans and their families in Orange County.

Since 2015, the Strong Families Strong Children (SFSC) program has helped thousands of Orange County veterans and their families access specialized behavioral health support. Our team includes Clinicians, Peer Support Specialists and Case Managers who are military connected and understand the unique challenges that veteran and family members face as the deploy and transition to civilian life. In-Person and telehealth services available.

How We Help

SFSC provides short-term mental health services tailored to veterans and their families, including:

  • Individual, couples, and family counseling

  • Trauma-informed therapy for PTSD and military-related stress

  • Parenting support and behavioral health services for children

  • Crisis intervention and emotional support

  • Peer Navigation

  • Case Management and resource coordination

  • Legal Assistance

Who We Serve

SFSC supports all Orange County veteran families, regardless of service length, discharge type, disability status, financial need, or marital status.

Child Guidance Center’s SFSC program provides services free of charge – thanks to generous funding from private donors, as well as funding from the CalVet’s California Veterans Health Initiative Mental Health Support (CVHI-MHS), and Orange County Health Care Agency, Mental Health Services Act (MHSA).
